Thresholds are expressed as required revenue excluding VAT. They assume a constant distribution of cycles across your equipment.
If your activity falls or rises by 25%
Your configuration uses the cycles you entered. The two variations test a 25% decrease or increase without changing your settings: they are not usage forecasts. Cycles, additional sales and their variable costs change; locker contracts, fixed expenses and loan repayments stay the same.

Each piece of equipment, in detail.
Contribution is revenue minus the costs associated with each piece of equipment. It helps cover the project’s fixed expenses; it is not net profit.

How are the results calculated?
Activity, customer prices and revenue
Monthly cycles = physical quantity × stations per unit × daily cycles per station × opening days. The main results use the cycles you entered; only the scenario comparison explores changes in volume.
Customer prices include VAT. Financial revenue is converted to amounts excluding VAT using the rate entered. Three double dryers represent six billable stations, but three machines to purchase.
Consumption and expenses
The cost of each cycle adds water (litres ÷ 1,000 × price per m³), electricity and gas (kWh × price per kWh), detergent and other variable costs. Payment fees apply to revenue including VAT.
Expenses are entered excluding VAT, assuming VAT is recoverable. Fixed expenses include rent, property charges and your expense lines. An unknown amount does not automatically become a zero cost.
Operating surplus, cash flow and loans
Estimated operating surplus (EBE) = revenue excluding VAT − variable costs − fixed expenses. It measures the model’s operating result before financing, depreciation and tax.
Cash flow after loan repayments = operating surplus − monthly loan payment, before tax and equipment replacement. The payment includes principal and interest on an amortising fixed-rate loan. At a zero rate, the principal is spread over the term.
Your contribution is the amount invested from your own funds. Borrowing can supplement it up to the investment amount, or you can enter the loan amount manually.
Break-even threshold and model limitations
The contribution margin ratio is the share of revenue remaining after variable costs. The monthly threshold deducts contractual locker income from fixed expenses, then divides the balance by the contribution margin ratio of variable activities; the threshold including financing also includes the monthly loan payment. The daily threshold is spread across opening days.
Locker income is converted to a monthly amount (contractual payment × area if applicable ÷ months per period). Locker income and costs stay fixed across scenarios. Vending machines and other activities use the monthly revenue and costs entered, without adding consumption or payment fees a second time. The threshold measures required activity revenue, excluding contractual locker income, which already covers part of the expenses. This calculation assumes a constant activity mix across equipment. If variable costs absorb all revenue, increasing volume cannot cover expenses.
Annual amounts represent twelve identical average months, without seasonality. Proposed assumptions are neither certified market data nor usage forecasts. The ±25% tests explore changes in activity.
The model does not calculate tax, depreciation, VAT returns or timing differences, or a full cash flow plan. Expenses not entered, including any remuneration, are not included. Results are indicative and do not guarantee profitability.
